Bruce Elder will challenge Goodlatte in 2014

It looks as if we’ll have a strong Democratic challenger to run against Congressman Bob Goodlatte in the Sixth District next year.

Bruce Elder, a member of the Staunton City Council and an antique and classic car dealer, made a powerful impression when he spoke to a meeting of the Rockbridge County Democrats earlier this month.

To find out more about Bruce’s campaign, to see how you can help, and to help him raise the money he’ll need to mount a serious challenge to the well-funded Goodlatte, visit his campaign website.

Support Traci Dippert for Delegate

Although our Republican State Delegate Ben Cline will not have a Democratic opponent in this year’s election, that doesn’t mean we have to sit on the sidelines.

There is an excellent candidate in another district whom we can “adopt”: Traci Dippert is running in 30th District, which includes Orange and Madison Counties and part of Culpeper County. She is a school teacher in Culpeper County and chair of the Culpeper Democratic Committee. She is challenging Republican Ed Scott, an entrenched incumbent with plenty of money.

To support Traci, you can send a check, made out to Dippert for Delegate, to 1621 Addie Lane, Culpeper, VA 22701.

You can learn more about Traci and how to help her campaign by visiting her website.

Democratic marchers needed

Marchers are needed to show our presence as Democrats in the Effinger Volunteer Fire Department parade on Friday May 24 and in the Raphine Volunteer Fire Company parade on Friday June 21.
