The deadline has passed for filing to be a delegate from Lexington to the 6th District and State Democratic Conventions that will select delegates to the Democratic National Convention in July.
Based on the results of the March 1 primary, Lexington was allocated one delegate for Hillary Clinton and one delegate for Bernie Sanders. Dorothy Blackwell was the only one to file as a delegate for Clinton and Bridget Kelley-Dearing was the only one to file as a delegate for Sanders.
Therefore the delegate selection caucus originally scheduled for Monday April 18 has been canceled.
Instead the Lexington Democratic Committee will hold its bimonthly meeting on Monday April 18 at 5:15 p.m. in the downstairs meeting room at City Hall, 300 East Washington Street.
