Thanks!

Although the results of Tuesday’s elections were not great for Democrats nationally (and there are certainly some lessons to be learned for next time), we can take some pride in contributing to Senator Mark Warner’s very narrow victory over Republican Ed Gillespie. In Lexington,

Warner received 979 votes (nearly 65 percent of the total) to Gillespie’s 500.

Special thanks to those who helped spread the word about the write-in campaign for former Staunton city councilman Bruce Elder for Sixth District House of Representatives against Republican Bob Goodlatte. Locally there were 206 write-in votes in that election (a far greater percentage than any other precinct in the Sixth District) and 170 of them were for Bruce.

Thanks for everything you did.
