Can you volunteer on Primary Day March 3?

First I want to remind everyone that Virginia’s Democratic Presidential Primary will be on Tuesday March 3 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voting in Lexington will be at the Rockbridge Area Relief Association, 350 Spotswood Drive.
This is our chance to help choose the candidate to beat Donald Trump and lead Democrats to victory in 2020.
Because only the Democrats are holding a presidential primary in Virginia, this is an excellent opportunity for us Democrats to recruit many of the volunteers we will need to achieve that victory.
Weather permitting, we’ll need people with volunteer signup sheets to stand or sit at the entrances to both sidewalks leading to the polling station.
We would like to have volunteers for two-hour shifts especially for the following times:
— 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
–10 a.m. to noon
–Noon to 2 p.m.
–5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Please let me know ASAP what would work for you.
Thanks.

Post-Election Review November 14

Join us on Thursday November 14 at 6:30 p.m. at LexRock Democratic Headquarters, 11 South Jefferson in Lexington, for a discussion of the results of the November 5 election and a look ahead to the 2020 elections.

Despite disappointment, Democrats win the day

We Democrats have a lot of victories to celebrate from Tuesday night.

But first of all, thanks to our Democratic House of Delegates candidate Christian Worth for running a strong, principled and tireless campaign. And thanks to her hard-working staff and to the hundreds of people who volunteered for and donated to her campaign. Although Christian came up short in the election, she made us proud.

–Democrat Creigh Deeds was overwhelmingly reelected to the State Senate.

–Democrat Leslie Ayers was elected Buffalo District Supervisor for Rockbridge County.

–Democrats flipped control of the Virginia State Senate AND the House of Delegates, and now control both bodies and the Governor’s Mansion for the first time since 1994.

–Despite the best efforts of Donald Trump, Democrat Andy Beshear defeated the Republican incumbent to become Governor of Kentucky.

–Democrats won a majority on the city council of Mike Pence’s hometown Columbus, Indiana, for the first time in nearly four decades.

Now it’s on to 2020!

Get out the vote for Christian and Creigh on Tuesday

Time is growing short. Although our Democratic candidate for House of Delegates Christian Worth has run a brilliant and tireless campaign, the final nine days are critical.

In an election like this, with no statewide or Congressional candidates on the ballot, voter turnout is THE crucial factor. To put it bluntly, if we don’t get out the vote for Christian between now and Election Day November 5, she will lose. If we do, she will win.

There is no “later” any more. The time is NOW.

Please show your support for Christian by signing up for at least one three-hour shift (or more if you can) to canvass and make phone calls in these final days leading up to the election.

If you can canvass during the final get-out the final GOTV push November 3-5, sign up here:

If you have any questions about volunteering, please email connect@worthfordelegate.com.

Sen. Creigh Deeds, who also needs our support and our votes, will be at LexRock Democratic Headquarters, 11 South Jefferson Street, on Tuesday November 5 at 9 a.m. to kick off the first canvass shift of the day. Sign up here to join us.

Let’s win this!
